Yes, I know that line. I have been working on this and have talked to several people and have found some information. Your Joseph was Joseph Michael who was born Mar 24, 1914 in Johnstown, PA. He had a twin brother, Michael Joseph, that had died. His father was John Guyan born as Gyan on Jun 21, 1886 in Johnstown and died Mar 4, 1950. John had 3 other brothers and two sister. One brother is my relative, Andrew Gyan, changed to Guyan and lived in Johnstown; Joseph Gyan, kept Gyan and lived in Johnstown; Michael Gyan, died and never married; Mary Gyan, who married a Benedict and lived in Ohio; and Elizabeth Gyan who married a Sellers and lived in Johnstown. Their parents were Michael Gyan(maybe Gajan) and Elizabeth Roscoe(Rosko). They were married in 1875 and immigrated in about 1882 from now Slovakia. From the naturalization record of Elizabeth Gyan's husband, John Bendik, I found that Elizabeth was born in Spisske Bystre, Slovkia. I would assume that her parents are from around there also. I am still working to find more information and Slovkian records.
What have you found? I will let you know if I find anything.
