John/Iwan??? CYMBALA of Pryslup, Galicia
At turn of century, as per Ellis Island Records, immigrants w/Cymbala surname are listed mainly as Ruthenian/Ukrainian, coming from Galicia>Austro-Hungarian Empire.
There were four villages named Przylup/Przylop in Galicia. Village name comes from Romanian word, prislop, which means valley that joins two parallel mountain peaks. Today Galicia would be in Ukraine or SE Poland.
#1 - Village Przyslup had both its Administrative and Judicial/Tax District in Turka.
GC (Greek Catholic) church was in Przyslup.
This was predominantly a Boyko village. Boyko were/are a micro ethnic Ruthenian group.
TODAY selo/village Pryslip > Turkivskij Raion > Lvivska Oblast/Region > Ukraine,latest zip code for village 82515.
Turn of the century records would most likely be in the Historical Archives in Lviv.
