I believe James W. Gallion was born in Maryland sometime between 1795-1801.He died May 22, 1874 in Holmes County, Ohio - Killbuck Township (record in Holmes County courthouse). He married Elizabeth (marriage registration at Holmes County Courthouse looks like her last name was Hayes, but I believe the last name is Wagers)October 16, 1938 in Holmes County, Ohio. They had three children -- William Jackson, Elijah, and Thomas Walker. James W. appears on the 1840, 1850, and 1860 census data in Ohio, Holmes County, Mechanic Township.Elizabeth, his wife, evidently died between 1850 and 1860.In the 1860 census, Thomas (their youngest son) is living with Elijah W. Wagers (William Wager's son).On the 1850 and 1860 census, the birthplace of James W. is listed as Maryland.

James W. was my great grandfather.Although information collected and passed down in my family indicated that James W. immigrated from Europe and settled in Hagerstown, Maryland in 1839, this is obviously not correct.
