Robert Eugene Gammon, 86, TN, obit; s/o Robert Lee and Ossie Gammon
Robert Eugene Gammon, 86, of Church Hill, Hawkins Co TN,
entered into rest on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Church
Hill Health Care Center.
Born June 28, 1926, he was the son of the late Robert Lee
and Ossie Gammon. Mr. Gammon was a member of Lebanon
United Methodist Church, and also a member of the Mason's
Holston Lodge 559 for over 50 years. He was a Scottish
Rite member and belonged to the Jericho Temple of
Kingsport. Mr. Gammon was also a member of the V.F.W. post
3382 of Kingsport. He proudly served his country in WWII
in the Navy.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son,
Freddie Gammon.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Gammon; daughters, Jan
Moseley and husband Dennis, Richmond, VA, and Ginger
Penley and husband Keith, of Nashville,TN; three grand-
children; four great grandchildren; brothers, Don Gammon
and wife Gussie, of St. Simmons Island, GA, and Lester
Gammon, Greeneville, TN.
A graveside service for Mr. Gammon will be held on
Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 2 p.m., in East Lawn Memorial
Park with Rev. Nancy Martin, officiating. Honorary
pallbearers will be Keith Penley, Jim Fletcher, Terry
Fletcher, Randy Hollifield, Russell Harr, Dennis Moseley,
Ronnie Lawson, Wayne Clevenger, and Mike Allen.
Full Military Honors will be provided by The American
Legion Hammond Post # 3 & the Gate City Post #265.
Everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m.,
for the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
the Lebanon United Methodist Church, c/o Ramona Fletcher,
136 Hickory Hills Road, Church Hill, TN, 37642.
