Re: Wiley/Garner Family Bible
Realize that it has been 8 years since you posted this message. Wondering if you are still researching the Garners who lived in Desoto Co., MS at the time of the 1850 census. Believe that my g-g-grandfather, Riley Garner was there at that time. Given as R.W. Gardner age 45, born TN, occupation Physician. If you look close the 5 looks as though an attempt may have been made to change it to a 1. He was living in a boarding house and the keeper of that house may have been the one giving the information. Can not find another Garner/Gardner in 1850 listed as a doctor. In 1860 he is listed as a Dr. in the Arkansas Co., AR census. He was born about 1809 in TN, the 19 year old he has in the house with him in 1860 becomes his wife 5 years later, she then dies after giving birth to my g-grandfather in 1866. Then he marries to Elizabeth Patterson-Pipkin, who was also born in TN & spent time in Yalobusha Co., MS & White Co., AR.
Would really appreciate a converstion, via email, about the Garners of NW Mississippi.
