Re: Thomas Garrett b: 17 Dec 1722 in New Castle Co, Delaware
Dates and info I have:
1772: 56th Regt Loudoun, 2nd Battalion. Roster of the company formerly commanded by Capt. Samuel Gullick, now Lt. Wm Russell, Sep 15, 1794. Abel, Joseph, John, Thomas and Henry Garrett. [My question: Which Thomas?]
22 Mar 1777: Capt. Charles Porterfield's Co., 11th VA Regt. Commander Col. Daniel Morgan. Unknown rank Thomas Garrett.
6 Apr 1777 - end of his military information - "was he a deserter?"
Other data: Thos. Jr b 1758, of age in 1774, joined 25 Mar 1777, deserted within two weeks, went over the Allegheny Mountains (as told, I believe, in a letter written by Thomas Sr), and retured in 1780 as a driver of trade wagons. [This later information was given to me by Carol Garrett, a Thomas descendant.] Did he drive supply wagons for the military during some of the war?
