George W. Garrett (1791-1870)
George W. Garrett (1791-1870) lived in Davidson Co, TN from about 1797 to about 1812, when he was listed in the militia in Nashville; he served in Creek Indian War campaigns with Col. Andrew Jackson in Georgia and Alabama Territory; he enlisted for War of 1812 service on November 13, 1814 at Camp Flynns in Jackson Co, TN; he fought in the Battle of New Orleans in December 1814/January 1815; he mustered out of military service at Nashville on May 13, 1815; he married Harriett Anderson (1802-1865) in Williamson Co, TN on February 10, 1817. They lived in Hickman Co, TN from about 1817 to 1827, then moved to Wayne County, TN from about 1827 to 1837; then moved to Tippah Co, MS from about 1837 until his death on September 30, 1870.
