Elizabeth Frazier wife of Paul G. Md m. James Madewell 1743
Sam Garrison said that our Paul (whom he believed was ours...in Baltimore pre 1745) deserted Elizabeth Frazier whom he married in 1735 in St. Paul's Church (Cathedral?) in Baltimore.
I did find record of that. Just the info, no document. Sam said when Paul "deserted her" she married James Madewell. I did not like that desertion assertion...he has no idea what happened to cause a breakup nearly 200 years ago and if she married Madewell...who knows. And I said as much to him and he agreed. BUT I read in a genealogy book recently that there were no divorces granted in Maryland prior to the RW.
CAtholic colony so that makes sense. So did that Paul die? And then she married James Madewell? In which case, definitely not ours! This names her son Job and I did find in a will book from Maryland that Job WAS Paul's and this one's date is right. So I am not sure what the whole situation is...we still don't know if he was OUR Paul. And if he is not, maybe he WAS a son of the old Paul from Delaware as Sam contended. Job did have a son named Garret Garretson who died...I found a descendancy chart a descendant of Job sent me a million years ago. I will send you the names of Job's line soon ....just to have so when you see them in areas where our line is, you'll know they are Job's. They were in SC and in Grainger Co, TEnn. and Indiana. One of them fought in the RW and was injured and his release papers were signed by COLONEL FRANCIS MARION it said.
There is no mention of Shadrach in the record below, whom Sam said was also her son.Since he is not mentioned, I'd guess he is not her son after all.I read in that book of wills that Job was Paul's definitely and that Shadrach probably was "as he was named in Job's will." but I did not SEE The mention in his will.
A couis from another line sent me this many moons ago and I could not open it ...it came from Ancestry and as you see was from Baltimore Families 1659-1759.
I found it the other day and asked Jim if he could open it for me and he kindly did! Well...it tells us what happened to Elizabeth but we don't know if Paul died (rather than left..since there were no divorces given)...or even if he IS our Paul..but I do think this was important to find! See below. Marti
Found this on Ancestry: from “Baltimore County Families 1659-1759” by Robert W Barnes: MADEWELL, JAMES, b c. 1714 m. Elizabeth (---) on 10 Feb. 1743 leased part of My Lady's Manor, the lease to run for the lifetime of Madewell, Eliz. Ady Garrison b. ca. 1721 and her son Job Garrison bc 1741, had iss:Alexander b. 11 March 1745 (77:450; 131:114/r).
