Ammon, Bonneville, Idaho, USA
My mother Lydia Lovina Stoddard Fisher was born July 10, 1904.
Lydia Betsy West Mawson Gates had a daughter Louise a year later.
Mom and Louise grew up together in Ammon, Idaho.
Aunt Louise never had children, but she did have 8 husbands. One day while visiting Louise she told me about each one of them. Very interesting. The 1st husband was a heatbreak because they were only married a couple of month when he got appedicitis and died. They were living with his mother in Ogden at the time and the mother would not take him to the doctor until it was too late. She was devistated. Heartbroken.
Most of her other husbands where men she met while working in hotels in Winnemucca, Nevada. He last husband was Winnemucca Jim. She loved him the best. He was a real character. He rode his mule and dressed as a mountain man in the Winnemucca parades. Louise and Jim did leather work. She made me a wallet once with the name West engraved on it. I still have it somewhere. Louise and Jim are buried together in Winnemucca, Nevada.
I was looking at a story written by Aunt Louise and she wrote her name as Marcia Louise Gates.
per R B Fisher family records.
