According to census records, my ancestor, James (B?) Gaynor, immigrated from County Longford in 1844. I believe he was 12 at the time and stowed away with his 11-year-old brother, George.According to family legend, James and George left for school one day but instead boarded a ship bound for the United States! A distant cousin who I met online told me the same story, which I had heard most of my life.According to her, James and George were sons of John and Mary Gaynor of County Longford, Ireland. According to their tombstones, located in Hancock County, KY, James was born March 25, 1831 and died May 29, 1917. George was born April 25, 1832 and died February 18, 1898. James married Valeria Kellams and had the following children:George C., Mary "Molly", Margaret, Eliza, James J., Franklin Patrick, and Owen. George married Ellen Terrill and had Margaret M., William, Ellen, John E., Robert, Annie, Henry, and Lydia D. Have you heard of this family?
