Dear Megan
My name is Timothy Gaynor and I live in Inverleigh Victoria Australia. My grandfather emigrated with his brother Joseph and his sister Kate from county Westmeath in the year 1911 on the white star ship to Melbourne. They lived on a farm at Ballin cargie(not sure of spelling) two of my brothers have been back to the farm in Ballyncargy and the house and farm are still there. My grandfathers name was Thomas Christopher Gaynor and his fathers name was Christopher Gaynor. He was killed in a rideing accident when my Grand fatherwas about 14 or 15 years old. His wife at the time remarried at a later date and had more children to a man called Smith(most original) This disinherited the orignal Gaynor children and they left for liverpool to work for a short period. After some time the three of them went to Australia and Thomas settled at Harrow, Victoria, Australia
He married Kathleen McDonnell and thet had five children. Jack, Patricia, Marie, Eileen, Thomas, who is my father and I have six siblings Annmaree, Elizabeth, William, Jeremy, Jane, John. We are in the age groups of 37-49 years old and all have children of our own. The Gaynors of Westmeath are well represented in the country downunder and we are very interested to find out more of your family that went to America. Thomas, Joe, and Kate had other brothers and sisters who apparently went to America and all contact and records was lost. You may be able to shed some light on this mystery. The name of the farm was called Piercefield at Ballen Cargie. My email address is tgaynor@vtown.com.au
Please write and fill in a few gaps if you can. We could be long lost relatives. Hope this prompts your interest
Regards and looking foward to your response- Timothy Gaynor
