Ken,
Kind of a long shot on these – they seem to have been in this country before yours. There weren’t many Gearrens in Ohio, so I thought I’d pass them along.
My gr grandmother was OAKIE GEARREN b. Jan. 13, 1875 in Ohio. Her father was JAMES M. GEARREN b. abt. 1836, allegedly in Pa.They were found on the 1880 Census living in Ravenna, Portage County, Ohio.Oakie married EUGENE THOMPSON.
EUGENE’S older brother JULIUS married JANE GEAREN, a daughter of AMZIE GEAREN and ANNIE DE VORE.
Generation No. 1
1.AMZIE GEAREN was born 1837 in Jefferson County, Ohio, and died 1912.He married ANNIE DE VORE.She was born in Carroll County, Ohio.
More About AMZIE GEAREN:
Burial: Pine Grove Cemetery, Ross Township, Jefferson County, Ohio.
Child of AMZIE GEAREN and ANNIE DE VORE is:
2. i. EMILY JANE GEAREN, b. July 10, 1866, Irondale, Jefferson County, Ohio; d. December 02, 1948, East Liverpool, Columbiana County, Ohio.
Numerous spelling variations are found. So far we’ve been unable to trace the ancestry of either family, nor have we been able to prove any connection between them.
