MRS. HENRY POST
JANUARY 17,1913
Mrs. Henry Post died at the family home in Charlotte township on Wednesday (Jan. 15) night at 7:30 o'clock, having been sick since Sunday with scarlet fever. Here death is extremely sad, the conditions surrounding it making it impossible for the friends of the family to lend assistance.
Mrs. Post was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edo Gerdes, and was born January 11, 1886, at Neufunixseal, Germany. She came to the United States with her parents at the age of seven years, landing in New York, and later coming to a farm north of Piper City, where they resided for one year, then moving to a farm near Cullom. On February 26, 1906, she was united in marriage with Henry Post and they went to houskeeping on the Patrick Carney farm in Charlotte township. Later they removed to the Harm Frieden farm, in the same township, where they have since made their home.
Mrs. Post is survived by her husband, two children, Angeline, aged three years, and Edward, aged eleven months. Two children preceded their mother in death. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edo Gerdes, who reside west of Chatsworth.
The burial took place on Thursday at one o'clock at the Chatsworth cemetery. Funeral services will be held at some later date, after the household has been released from quarantine.
Two weeks later: The funeral was held at the Lutheran church of Charlotte township on Jan. 31.
