Interested in your Gerhardt/Gerhart as a possible connect with my Gerhardt/Gerhard (Gayhart) surname(s).My great, great grandfather John Gerhard(t), Gerhard married Elizabeth Mayer.They settled in Pendelton, NY prior to the birth of my great grandfather Martin John Gerhard (Gayhart), born 1840.His brother Adam born 1845.In 1855 the family moved to Young America, WI.John and Elizabeth are buried in the catholic cemetery in West Bend, WI.I do not have any further background of this ancestry, only assume the Gerhard(t) came from Germany.Martin married Gertrude Stoffels in Young America, WI.They had a large family.In 1885 the Gayhart's homesteaded to western Nebraska, where my connection begins.Appreciate hearing from you should you believe a connection.M.
