the two of you come from two different Carl Gerhardts in Saskatchewan.One Carl Gerahrdt homesteaded somewhere north of the Qu'Appelle Valley - near the Neudorf area.The other Karl Gerhardt, who is son of Jakob and Maria Gerhardt lived around the Kipling area. The Kipling Karl was born in 1870 in Wolhynia, Russia. The Neudorf Carl was born in the mid 1880's. I don't know of any realtion between the two as of yet. Jakob and Maria ultimately lived in the Southey area with Adolf (or maybe Rudolf) and Barbara Gerhard.
