Re: German/King family tree. any connections out there?
Hi Buddy....In reply to your recent message, I don't think there is any connection to the King family I am looking for.
Anna and Mary King were the children of my grandfathers first wife. Her name was Elizabeth Edwards from Troy, New York. Her first husband was Thomas King, who was belived to be lost at sea during the Civil War.
The 1860 census shows only one child (Anna)age 1 year. also list is a woman named Margaret Payn, age 18years old and a tailoress. It is possible that her name was spelled incorrect and should have been Payne....
It is possible that one of these girls, Anna or Mary married in later life to someone with the family name "German".
that is the only information I have and I'm still looking for these two girls.
thanks for you infomation and I hope what I have sent is of some interest.
