Gerner/Green/Daws/Starkey, migration to South Australia
I am looking to make contact with any members of the Gerner family who immigrated to South Australia in about the 1840s. I believe they may be the descendants of John Frederick Gerner and Mary Ann Green (b. 3 Jul 1808, Mancetter, Warwickshire; d. 17 Jul 1875, Adelaide). I think Mary Ann Green may have had children called Frederick Gerner, Bernhardt Frederick Gerner, Eliza Gerner (who married Robert Daws on 14 May 1869 in Wakefield St, Adelaide), or John Frederick or Ernest Gerner (who may have married an Amelia and lived in Tumby Bay, South Australia).
It is possible that some or all of these children adopted or used the surname "Thorpe" when their mother remarried, shortly before migrating to Australia. It is possible that some of the children were the offspring of a previous marriage of Frederick Gerner, perhaps to a Nancy Ann Kingsford. "Kingsford" seems to have been used as a middle name in that family.
I believe Mary Ann Green was the daughter of Samuel Green (christened 20 Mar 1774) and Sarah. Samuel Green was the son of Thomas Green and Alice Starkey (married 1 Aug 1773, Mancetta).
Any information which anyone has on these families would be great.
