Vincent, First of all I will try to answer your first question about David Honeywell. I have been to Sheridan and can't locate a death certificate or cemetery list with him in it. Par to the course for Michigan! My gr gr grandfather Robert D. Gates is in Cressy cemetery where Newell, Chester and Hylond Honeywell are buried. This is what I have on your gr gr grandfather David Honeywell. In 1865 David was listed on the assesment rolls, Barry County, Prarieville, MI. He sold the land there and moved to Elba Twp. Knox County, IL. He purchased land there from Reuben M. Gates my gr gr grandfathers brother Sec. 27, April 9, 1867. He sold the land back to Reuben on Feb. 10, 1880. David's son Frank A. Honeywell was living with Reuben in the 1880 census ag 29. He later married Reubens daughter Elizah S. Gates. March 14, 1882. Frank A. and Elizah S. (Gates) Honeywell preceded to live with Reuben and family until Reuben died in, Kansas in 1906. Davids wife Lurana died May 28, 1878 and David didn't sell the land until Feb. 1880. Lurana is possibly buried in Illinois. I have not run across her in any of the cemeteries in that area. Reuben Gates wife Sarah E. (Kightlinger) Gates brother, Abram Benton Kightlinger was married to Frances Honeywell, Davids daughter and I see that she diedMay 24, 1903 near Sheridan. Perhaps that is a clue to where David Honeywell is buried. Abram Benton Kightlinger and Frances (Honeywell) Kightlinger's children were George and Ernest Kightlinger. Maybe one could check the census for 1900 for Abram Benton or Frances Kightlinger in the county that Sheridan is in and check the towns near Sheridan. I wish I would have thought of that when I was in Michigan. I guess thats why they tell us to go back and review what we already have in our files. "Ring the bell if you find Frank A. Honeywell", David and the Kightlingers. Hope I was of some help to you. Best Regards, Loren
