Gestwickis from Dunkirk, NY
I have been able to find at least four Gestwicki families in Dunkirk in 1900 (via the US Census). The relationshi[ps between these families is unclear(we're looking for deciphering help): 1. Leon and Barbara Gestwicki of South Webster St..; both immigrated to the US from 1900-German-occupied Poland in 1888 (ch: Annie, Frank, Valentine, Mary and Anthony); 2. Frank and Mary Gestwicki of South Roberts Rd; also immigrated from same part of German-occupied (1900) part of Poland in 1882 (ch.: Clara, Katie, and John Stanley); 3. John and Julia Gestwicki of East Front St.; both immigrated to US from 1900-Russian-occupied Poland in 1892 (ch.: Mary, Julia, Bernard, Thomas, Helen, Clara, and Frank); and 4. Martin and Agnes Gestwicki of Middle Road; immigrated to US from 1900-German-occupied-Poland in 1882 (ch.: Theodore, Joseph, Wlater, and Felix). Our connection stems from Family 2, via John Stanley Gestwicki, and his sons Arthur and Herman.Let us know if you know anything about any of this. Thanks, Michael and Barbara Gestwick Huggins (daughter of Arthur Gestwicki).
