I don't think your Jacob is one of mine.I've never seen any evidence of that, however, because he married Judith Napier and therefore was in the immediate area, he may have been related to the Orange County Gibson Family and there is evidence of that.
Because he was said to have been 'bred' an Anglican, that would mean that he was from a family of churchmen.Which is why I think he may have been related to Jonathan Gibson of Orange. This Gibson was the nephew of Edmund Gibson, Bishop of London, who died in 1748 and Jonathan Gibson used this connection to improve his own life.He was a prominent man in Orange County.I don't know if your Jacob was a brother, son, cousin. But it's probably worth your time to look into it.Because Jonathan was prominent there are lots of records of him.
You should also be aware of the British naming tradition, which Colonials in Virginia here followed- using it for males and females. There was a prescribed way of naming ones children so there would have been a Jonathan or Edmund, for example.
As far as your Jacob marrying our Judith- good for her.If anyone needed the influence of the Almighty then it would have been her father, Robert Junior.
