Obit -Giesbrecht, Judy
Judy Giesbrecht was born to Ronald and Monica Hayward on June 26, 1949 in Edmonton, AB and passed away September 8, 2008 in Quesnel, BC at the GR Baker Memorial Hospital. She was 59 years old. A memorial service was held at the Bethel Church in Quesnel on Saturday September 13 with Pastor Cliff Siebert officiating. Judy’s brother Charles read the eulogy, her sister-in-law Roseanne read some of her favourite bible scriptures and special musical tributes were performed by her brother-in-law David, daughter Tammy and daughter-in-law Carly. Pallbearers were Judy’s three sons Glenn, Justin and Darryl along with three of Judy’s brothers, Charles, Dave and Donald. Judy was interred at the Quesnel Municipal Cemetery and a special letter was read by her sister Roseanne. After the service, the Bethel Church hosted a tea for family and friends.
Judy’s passions were many. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and family and anything to do with music. She played the piano, accordion, and violin and loved to listen to anyone else who played them as well. She had a beautiful voice and sang frequently at church and family gatherings. Judy also loved flowers. She had a flower store in Quesnel for many years and kept a bright and welcome home with several flower arrangements in every room.
Judy is survived by her loving husband Ray, and her memory will live on in her children Glenn (Cathy), Tammy, Serena (Rene), Justin (Carly) and Darryl, and grandchildren David, Mathew, Serenity-Rose, Haley, Jessica, Hannah, Tyler and Devin. She is also survived by her mother Monica, sisters Linda, Monica, Angie, Shirley, Yvette, Jackie, Roseanne and brothers Charles, Dave, Donald, Rob, Wade, and Lance along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Ronald and her granddaughter Cassandra.
Ray and his family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to The Bethel Church, Pastor Cliff Siebert and Clayton’s Funeral Home for all the arrangements and support. Thank you also to all of those who sent flowers, cards and food during this difficult time.
