This is a follow-up to "Gillespie's in Georgia" (way back in 9/23/1999).

Linda,
Hi, I'm new to this forum.I hope you are still paying attention here after nearly 2 years since your posting.I have been looking for a Doc Earl Gillespie of Des Moines, Iowa (he was my paternal grandfather).I don't know where he was born and raised or by whom.My father and I have long since lost track of each other and besides, neither he nor anyone else in the family will talk about Doc.
There aren't too many Doc Earl Gillespies out there, so even if yours and mine aren't the same one, they will likely be related and be carrying down some name from a common ancestor.I figure my grandfather could very well have moved from South Carolina.
Oh, here is the whole genealogical breakdown:
Doc Earl Gillespie = Marietta Mildred Dodge
(Marietta was born (1911-1913) and
raised in Des Moines, as was my
father)
Their children:
Dale LaVonne Gillespie (b. 6/30/1930)
Lloyd Gillespie(b. 1933)
Rex Gillespie(b. 1937)
My grandmother left Doc Earl in 1946 and moved with the children to California, to Richmond in the S.F. Bay Area, though that's not likely to be important to your own efforts.
Anything you can tell me would be great.
Laura Gillespie
