Alan D. Packard in "Packard's Progress" Vol. 20, Nov. 1991, reports the wife of James Ward Packard (1863-1928) as being Elizabeth A. Gilmer and in Vol. 23, Aug. 1992 reports they were married 31 Aug. 1904 and that Elizabeth's father was Thomas L. Gilmer. A newspaper obituary for Elizabeth Gillmer (sic) reports that she died 19 Jan 1960 in Lakewood, Chautauqua Twp., Chautauqua Co., New York, after a long illness. She was born 15 Jul 1871 in Newton Falls, presumably in St. Lawrence Co., New York.
James Ward Packard was the founder of the Packard Motor Car Co. He and Elizabeth lived in Warren, Trumbull Co., Ohio, about 10 miles northwest of Youngstown, Mahoning Co., Ohio. I have found no record of their having any children.
Do you see any connection to your records of Gil(l)mores?
