I would love to compare notes with you on your John Noble GIPES.I don't know what happened to John GIPE, brother of my Mary/Arilla GIPE.I have just one census record with him recorded:
1870, Concord, Bureau County, Illinois M593_190; Page: 229
He is listed as 10 years old and born in Illinois as is his sister Mary, age 13.Sister Rohanna was born in 1855 in Indiana and older siblings born in PA.I believe they were in Franklin County, PA at least until 1854.
The family has NOT been located in 1860 and is in Montgomery Twp, Franklin County, PA in 1850.Elizabeth Barncord GIPE purchased the property in her own name in Bureau County, Illinois in 1861.
Although I have not personally seen the record, I understand there is a reference to a brush with the law in Bureau County, Illinois in 1874, with the result of that requiring John to be transferred to a home for boys. That is the last known record for him.I suspect he either died young or changed his name and moved elsewhere.
Oldest brother, David, and youngest brother Samuel moved to Iowa.It appears that the others likely stayed in the counties surrounding Bureau County, Illinois.
I would love to compare notes with you.Can you direct me to any information on your John?
