Hello -- I am doing extensive research on my family tree this summer, and I just found this Glassmeyer forum.I would love if any of you could help me out! Let me give my info and see if any of these names ring a bell to anyone. My great great grandmother was Flora Oden (nee Glasmyer) (1866-1954) of Cleveland, OH. She was born in Missouri to Frank (c. 1826-1908) and Clara M.(1835-1913) Glasmyer. She had siblings named Emma, Frank H., Frederick, and William H. Glasmyer. In the 1880 census (In Cleveland) they were all listed under the name Glasmire. Also, in the 1880 census, it says that Frank was born in Pennsylvania and his father was also born in Pennsylvania. From some other research, I found that a Franklin Glassmeyer was born to Samuel and Maria Glassmeyer in 1825 in York, PA. I also found that Samuel Glasmyer and Maria Knetler married in 1821 in Conewego Twp., Adams, PA. Finally, I found a George Glasmyer in the 1790 census for Long Swamp township. I find it remarkable that George and Samuel (in the marriage record) have their names spelled Glasmyer, which is exactly as my great great grandmother and her family spelled it. Can anyone help me?I would appreciate any bits of info!Did someone mention in an earlier post that there is a Glassmeyer family book?Thank you so much!
