Margarite and her husband are both buried at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Grand Marais, Michigan. On the 1910 US Census, the household includes a grandson Dorman VEILLETTE.It is uncertain whose child he is, but it is possible that he is the illegitimate son of their oldest daughter, Jennie. He does not appear again in any other family record, and may have also been sent to the orphanage.Margarite appears in some records, including her cemetery record, as Margaret.
Notes for Samuel VEILLETTE: Samuel is found living alone on the 1930 US Census in Grand Marais, Michigan. It is unclear why he chose to send his children away after his wife’s death, but it is believed that he was simply unable to properly care for such a large family alone. It appears he never remarried.

Marie Florida appears in most records as Ada.
Notes for Oliva-Levy MEILLEUR:Appears in his Social Security death record as “Joseph MEILLEUR,” a name he sometimes went by.Oliva had a twin brother, Joseph-Yvon, that probably died as an infant. He preferred the name “Levi,” and had his name legally changed when he was naturalized in 1946.Levi worked as a lumberjack in Grand Marais, and also owned a bar there. He moved his family by horse and sled in the winter of 1916 to Munising, where he worked in a paper mill.In 1920, Levi moved his family to Detroit, where he took a job at a gas company and worked there until his retirement.
