I am looking for any information about my great grandmother, Ellen Golden.I know nothing about her parents or any siblings. She first appears in the in the 1870 census of Abbeville County, SC married to my great grandfather, Marion Whitlock. They were living in the household of Marions parents, Lesly H. and Mary Whitlock. They later lived in Laurens County and Union County, SC.Marion died after 1880 and Ellen died about 1908 in Union, South Carolina.

Marion and Ellen Whitlock had the following children:

At one time I thought my Ellen Golden might be the daughter of Allard Golden and Thurzia Price of Calhoun County, Alabama. They had a daughter named Ellen who was about the right age and they had lived in South Carolina before moving to Alabama.I later learned that this Ellen married someone else and is buried in Paris, Texas which proves she is not my Ellen. However I still feel that my Ellen might somehow be related to this family because of both their SC ties and to the fact that my Ellen named a son Allard.
