Hello Glenn
I have the same info about the birth and baptism dates of your Alexander Goldie (1824/5).I've found no trace of Isabel Forsyth other than that she is named as his mother on Alexander's death cert. However, Alexander Goldie married Christina Adams on 27th Feb 1846 in Shotts and they had 10 children!1. William Goldie b.d. 27 Dec 1846 in Shotts2. James Goldie b.d. abt 1848 in New Monkland3. Margaret Goldie b.d. abt 1850 in Shotts4. Isabella Goldie b.d. abt 1852 in Shotts5.John Goldie b.d. abt 1854 in Shotts6. Alexander Goldie b.d. 20 Dec 1855 in Whitburn (colliery engine keeper), married Elizabeth Kelly on 8th Feb 1878 in Whitburn. (your ancestors)7. David Goldie b.d. 27 Mar 1859 in Shotts8.Agnes Stark Goldie b.d. 24 Oct 1862 in Whitburn9.Christina Goldie b.d. 4 Jun 1865 in Bathgate10.Hugh Goldie b.d. 10 Nov 1867 in Bathgate.
Child no 6. has a very familiar name to me as my G G Grandmother was named Agnes Stark (b.d. 4th May 1804 in Carnwath) and she was married to William Goldie (b.d. 24th August in Barony, Lanark).William's father, Hugh Goldie was described as an engineman in a colliery.I've tried to make a connection with your Goldies but have so far had no luck.
Joyce
