mr and mrs goldsbrough, of 14 harrow street, west hartlepool, have received official news that their son, pioneer john edward goldsbrough, r.e., was killed in action on the 5th of july. a message conveying the king and queen's sympathy has been received. lieutenant morris,
r.e., in sending an expression of sympathy to the parents, says that the deceased soldier had only been in the company a short time (a very arduous time) but he had become a favourite with the officers and men.
