Alwxander Goldsborough marries Delia Ryan- late 1800s?
My eyes are going now! I've spent hours on LDs site and here is the sad story :
Trying to track info on my husbands grandfathers side of the family. I got hints from him(POP) before he passed away in 1987. Said his mother was a Ryan, they were IRISH/ENGLish and he had a grandfather named Patrick Gallagher.. Somewhere in there is a Donahue mixed in.. Anyways.. searching LDS site, I hit the jackpot and got the parent names -- From 1910 census - it shows:
Alexander Goldsborough - father - dob abt 1864
Dellia Goldsborough - mother - dob abt 1866 (appears a misspelling - two L's in name??)
children - George (18yo), John(16yo), Harry(13 yo), Fred (9 yo- Fred is my hubbys grfather - real names was Frederick)
I went into the 1920 Census and it says:
Delia Goldsborough - parent - age 52
child - Fred - age 18..
Somewhere I saw her listed as "delia Ryan Goldsborough - but cannot locate that pc of info right now)
So, Alexander has disappeared (I am assuming the other children moved away - older now).. I cannot locate him anywhere else moving forward or backwards!
I can find Delia Ryan on the 1880 census - I am pretty sure it is her - but can definitely prove it.. (there are tons of ryan and tons of delias in the area).
So.. I am thinking that Alexander has died? or left the family or they divorced??? What happened to Delia? What happened to Alexander? NO clue?? I cannot locate marriage record either.. the first child was born about 1892 - but of course they could have been born before marriage or another persons child they raised???
Any clues guys??
