Want to reconnect with Jack Sallee re Gooch NC
Hi - in 2001, Jack Sallee responded to an inquiry I (Rhonda Tallman at that time) had on Mary Ann Gooch and Susan Gooch.I wondered if there might be anything further known about this family now.I've been searching on and off for years without any luck.Jack posted: "I suspect that the Susan with Mary Ann is her mother and the only NC marriage of the right period that I've found is Susannah Chambliss (b.1794-1802) who married James T. Gooch (b.1794-1800) in Granville Co. July 16, 1816. By the 1820 census in Granville (p.18) they had 2 daughters (b.1816-20, so one is right age for Mary Ann). By the 1830 census in Granville (p.42), they had a son (b.1820-25) and 2 more daughters (b.1825-30). I haven't been able to find this family after the 1830 census, so it remains a possibility - or perhaps at least a starting point. James T. is supposed to be the son of Rowland Gooch (b.1750-2 in Mecklenburg VA who d.Nov.1821 in Granville) and his second wife Mary Walker (prob. b.1750-5)."
