Regarding the Virginia Cousins, it is generally acknowledged, now, that Sarah's father, Joseph, was descended from the Skinquarter/Four Mile Creek Goodes, meaning that the direct immigrant ancestor was Edward, brought over by Solomon Knibb(s) as an approximately ten year old indentured servant. The other "glitch" that affects me is that Abraham, listed as Joseph's brother, was actually his son; in that same entry, there is a James mentioned who is in the line but placed incorrectly. Also, I am fairly certain, although I need one more piece of documentation, that Joseph's son, Thomas, and another Thomas are confused. However, on the whole, the book has been exceptionally useful to me and a real marvel considering what G. Brown Goode had to work with.
Hopefully, you have a copy of the Hudlow Hiway and the update letters.Someone before Charles, then Charles, did a marvelous job.Charles, now 91 or 92, has retired from family history and, to date, no one has taken up maintenance.
Barbara Hudlow, Sarah Goode Hudlow's daughter, and Abraham Goode, Jr., also Joseph's grandson, were my gggrandparents. My ggrandfather and some of his brothers were, as were many in their neighborhood in Pickens County, CSA, then Union, during the Civil War.
I have many census records in an Excel workbook (which will lead you back to the originals) that I am willing to share, but, except where I was on a hunt, they cover mostly just my direct anscestors and their immediate families.
Michael Hudlow is buried at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Dawson County. There are several non-marked lots, then George Hudlow.I do not know where Sarah Goode Hudlow, Barbara Hudlow Goode, or Abraham Goode, Jr. are buried. If you have any idea, please let me know.Abrum Goode, son of Abraham, Jr. and Barbara, is buried at Pine Log Methodist Church in Bartow County, GA.I have, periodically, stood by his grave for sixty plus years now and he is very real to me.
