Re: John Goode of Whitby - Colonial Dames???
Sharon, I checked the book "Ancestry and posterity of John Goode of Whitby" and found the following on Joseph Goode, son of John Goode, he was born at Whitby 1688-1700.He was a minor in 1709 and had the same provision as his brother Thomas in his father's will. They only list one child as either John or Daniel. It also states that Joseph and Thomas are mentioned among the early settlers of Old Albermarle Co. about the middle of the last century.
Under the information for his son John or DAniel is the following info.He married a Miss Campbell, had sons William Goode b. 1743 in Culpepper Co. Va. d. 1815, Campbell, Benjamin born 1745-60 in Amherst Co. Va., Joseph born 1750-60 Bedford Co. Va. , John 1750-60 moved West.William Goode the son of Daniel (or John) was born in Culpeper Co. lived in Greenbrier and later in Haslifax co.died 1815 married Miss Glidwell, children Daniel, John and William.,,there is more info on this family, but not sure what your line is....there seemed to be some confusion on what the name of Joseph's son was.
