Tara, Looking at the censuses, there is consistent listing of Andrew's parents as being from father/england and mother/Germany. On the 1900 census of Germania Township, Todd County, Minnesota, there appears to be a town listed (though I can not make it out with any clarity but it might be more legible on the original)for place of birth of father. The other point of interest is that there is a window of 6 years as to when the parents and Andrew came to Kentucky, the reason being that John is always listed as being born in Ky.In light of places of birth of parents Andrews grandparents would not have been in the US. This is not to say that they can't be related to the Goode family(ies) of Virginia since family does tend to follow other members to new locations. We are checking out possible in-law connections to the Hunt wives especially their sisters. No luck so far. It does peak my interest what might have happened in that area, in that time(1829-35) that might have produced some dislocated family members seen on the 1850 Pike Co.Census such as Julie A Carter, Mary Carter, and John Goode living with the Moses Hunt familyand Andrew Goode living with Henry Hunt.
One other note, I see you as having communicated with Harvey Good, and I seem to remember a posting that his father married a woman from Staples Mn. This was the area that Andrew and Sarah Childers Good settled in. Also one of their youngest sons was named Harvey born 1876(my g-g-uncle). If you have a contact for him we would love to touch base. We have a picture of Harvey Good and brothers and two sisters. These are Louisa Jane, Pricy, John, and Bill.
