Sarah Goode, daughter of Joseph Goode
In answer to your question, no, this Sarah Goode is not covered in our books. However!!
This Sarah Goode is the daughter of Joseph Goode Jr and Jane Clark, daughter of William Clarke. Joseph Goode Jr comes from the line of Goodes that settled on Swift Creek in now Chesterfield Co, VA. I find no evidence they are connected to the Goodes of Whitby or Four Mile Creek.
I believe Joseph Goode Sr, a Quaker, was transported to the colonies around 1682 by John Alford & William Millington who received 350a on S side of York River. Early records show Joseph Goode Sr bought 50a from Edward Stratton on 1 Jul 1708. His son, Joseph Goode Jr is referred to as William Joseph Goode in the will of his grandson, Joseph Haskins. Joseph Goode Jr bought land on N side of Swift Creek on 6 Jul 1749. Joseph Jr's will names 2 daughters (Elizabeth Akin & Mary Redford), 2 grandsons (Joseph Pleasants and William Pleasants, sons of his third daughter, Sarah)(WB1, part 2, pg 274, Chesterfield Co, VA).
Joseph Pleasants Jr married Sarah Goode (died ca1732 in Henrico Co) on 2 Jul 1726 in Henrico Co.
We wrote a special report on the confusing Joseph Goode's and included it in vol 1 of our books on the Goode Family. This includes Joseph Goode of Swift Creek. I can provide other data on this family if needed.
