David, I am descended from the Roxburghshire Goodfellows. In 1979, I spent 7 weeks in and around Edinburgh doing research on Roxburghshire BMD records. Since then, I have traced brothers/cousins of my Robert, all of whom came to Canada in 1820 or thereabouts and settled in Upper or Lower Canada.
I would appreciate knowing who the Roxburgh researchers are that you are in communication with. Perhaps we could help one another. (I also noted information about Jacks, Kerrs and Whillans, representatives of which families are connected to my branch in Lower Canada.)
In the early 1970's, I wrote to three or four Goodfellows in various parts of the world and received gracious replies from many. If there is interest, I would be able to share these names and give a summary of their responses.
