I have been compiling family files I have found on the RootsWeb family files and information from the 1870, 1880 and 1900 census. The children I have for David Goodfellow and Mary Donaldson are John, Rebecca, Mary, Isaiah, David and Jane.Isaiah married Rebecca Lightcap. They had William, Sally, Isaiah, David John, Almira, Mary R., Annie E., Lillian L. In the 1870 census we find Isaiah and Rebecca Lightcap with Isaiah, Mary, Annie and Lilian. We also find David married to Clara (Nagle)with Harry A., David A. and William. In the 1880 census we find Isaiah and Rebecca with Isaiah, married daughter Annie E. and husband Frank Seitzinger, and grandson David L.We also find Clara Nagle living with her mother Sarah Laing and her children Harry, William, Sallie and Bertha. The David A. mentioned in the 1870 census is missing, but the grandson David L. living with Isaiah and Rebecca is the same age as this David A would be. My husband's uncle told him that someone in the family changed their middle name. We are thinking that my husband's grandfather, David Lincoln is this same David. He left his home in Reading Pennsylvania and went to Oregon where he married Lucy Whitworth. He had 10 children, mostly in Eastern Oregon while he worked in coal mines. He later moved to Alameda where he died in 1929 from black lung. We would appreciate any help in making a positive connection for David Lincoln Goodfellow to his family in Reading, Pennsylvania. One of David Lincoln's youngest daughters remembers three names that had been mentioned in connection with her father's family.Walter, Roberta-Alberta-or Bert, and the surname Shaner.I am wondering if the one name is the Bertha mentioned in the 1880 census. In the 1900 census I only find Joseph W. Goodfellow in Reading.I am wondering if this is Isaiah's grandson through his oldest son William, who perhaps inherited Isaiah's property.
