He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in October 1876, the only child of Sarah Ann Hughes and Freeman Crowell Goodnow. He died on 15 March 1958. He wasthe Chief Engineer of the American Radiator Company when he retired in New York City in 1952. He and wives 2 and 3 are buried in the Quaker Cemetery in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts.
His first wife was Ruby Ross Pope, 1881-1950. They married on 28 August 1907 at the Church of the Transfiguration, New York City, New York. They were divorced in 1923 in either New York or Connecticut and had one child, Philip, who was born in 1909 in Cambridge or Boston, Massachusetts, and who probably died as an infant. Ruby Ross Pope Goodnow married, as her 2nd husband, in 1924, Chalmers Benedict Wood, a governor of the New York Stock Exchange (no children, one stepson).
His second wife was Heloise DeForest, former wife of UNKNOWN DeForest and reportedly a daughter of John Kinnan of Denver, Colorado. She was born in Denver in 1898 and died 21 July 1944. She and Wallace Goodnow were married sometime after 1923. No children.
His third wife was Dorothy Bronson Wicker, the former wife of Dr. Cecil V. Wicker of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1883, and died in Stamford, Connecticut, on 18 November 1948. She had one daughter by her previous marriage, Dorothy Edith Wicker, who married Gerard Re in Beverly Hills, California, February 1945.
