Thanks for your post on the Gooseberry Genealogy Forum.We don't get many.I don't recognize any of the names that you mention.OurGooseberry family is pretty limited.In our case, it is the English Translation of the French word for gooseberry (Desgroseilliers).The census workers in up-state New York first recorded my ggg grandfather Jean Baptiste Desgroseilliers as John Gooseberry.
We have only been able to find a very few ancestors/relatives with the Gooseberry name.
From time to time I have seen Gooseberry show up as middle names for people; but don't know the derivation in those cases.When you look into LDS Great Britain Genealogy there are a number of listings for the surname Gooseberry, but it is now clear in our case, that we are not descended from them.
Where did the Golds live in Michigan.
