Parents of Franz Henry Gortemiller were Henry Gortemiller, born abt 1827 in Hanover, Germany, and Francis Hannah Grimmer born abt 1840 in England.

This couple had two known children: Franz Henry Gortemiller and Mary Jane Gortemiller.

Franz Henry Gortemiller married Cynthia Fry. Mary Jane Gortemiller married William Houston Keown. Mary Jane and William Houston Keown are buried in Gortemiller Cemetery, Montgomery County, Arkansas.

Francis Grimmer died probably in Cedar County, Missouri, and Henry married History M. Davis on Feb 5, 1872, in Cedar County, Missouri. They had one known child: Corrine Angeline Gortemiller.
