These two records are for the commitment and guardianship of Frederick Graboo, an unmarried man living in Corcoran, MN.He is committed to the state hospital in Fergus Falls, MN.This commitment lists him as insane, but could have been anything from Parkinsons to Alzheimers, or anything in between, as all the commitment records at that time seem to be listed as insane.

This record deals with the estate of Frederick Grabow (or Graboo) above.He died either 6 July 1898 or Sept. 1899, there are conflicting dates in the document.He died at Fergus Falls, Ottertail County, MNbut had been a resident of and had owned property in Hennepin County.

Sharrer.”

Real estate included the lot and dwelling at the N 41 feet of Lot 7 Bottineau’s addition; and an undivided 1/3 interest in Lot #216, Sec 4, of Lakewood Cemetery.
There is a list of her personal property in the document Oath of Appraisers Document, Inventory of Personal Property.I remember seeing several items of jewelry including rings and a “garnet set.”There were also some small stocks and shares in the Farmers Building Association.

This is a petition for Guardianship made by Herman’s father Henry J. Grabow of the “said minor under 14 years of age, asking that the Minnesota Loan and Trust Company of Minneapolis be appointed guardian of Herman’s financial estate until he is fourteen.
“The remainder in fee subject to a life estate in Henry J. Grabow the father of said minor who is now of the age of 40 years, in and to the north westerly forty one (41) feet and rear of lot seven (7) in block 13 in Bottineau’s addition according to the plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the Register of Deeds of said Hennepin County.”
This property was then valued at $1200.In 1907, the bank petitioned to sell the real estate because they said Herman would have greater “benefit to put proceeds at interest.”
In 1916 the accounting of his money was invested $1,629.83 and uninvested $83.41.Herman’s father Henry had died because his funeral expenses came out of Herman’s money.$23.00.
On 23 Aug 1919, Herman attained his majority and settled with the bank.No accounting is given.
