Hello Michael. Yes, as far as I can tell, Simon was my 2x gt grandfather.I have him baptised rather than born on the date you give.It is difficult to be 100% certain, but I am fairly sure that his parents were John and Elizabeth (possibly nee Constable), John's parents being William Greenacre and Elizabeth Parker.Does this ring a bell or do you have a different family? The sources I have for Simon make me a little worried that I may have two people combined as one as he appears to have been a schoolmaster at his marriage to Mary Ann Knowles in 1841, but a gardener at all other times (children’s births etc.), which seems a little unlikely.Unfortunately on the 1841 census, when Simon is recorded as aged 25, his occupation is not shown, although his father John is recorded as being a gardener, as he is on Simon's marriage certificate. What do you think?Best wishes, Jon
