John,
You probably have the information given by Frank L. Greene in "Desc of Joseph Greene of Westerly." On page 33, he wrote that Mary and Daniel m in 1792. Daniel prob s/o Daniel and Lois (Clarke) of Charlestown, RI, and later of Berlin, NY. Daniel b ca 1720, d in in Brookfield, Madison Co, NY, Mar 1805. Six children. Which child do you descend from? (Polly who m David Crandall?) Are Polly and David in the Crandall gen?
I did check my RI database and did not find anything. But I only transcribed information on the Potter and Clarke families when they interacted with other families I was researching.
Both the Potters and Clarkes in RI are difficult. There may have been multiple immigrants with these surnames. Sorting the families out is tough and existing genealogies are not always accurate.
Have you looked in the land records in Rensselaer and Madison counties, NY? Have you found him in the 1790 and 1800 censuses?
Bill
