Desperately seeking Parentage of Clarissa Louisa Greene, b. 1829 Vermont
"Louisa" Greene, known throughout as "Louisa" and buried in DeSmet 1881 with Clarissa L. on her gravestone--second wife of Lyman Warner, married 1852 in Swanton or St. Albans, Vermont.
Olive Greene , first wife of Lyman Warner was born in 1808, married him in 1830 in Swanton (as reported in the St. Albans paper). The two women are believed to have been fairly close relatives. I have, thanks to fellow researchers, found the ancestry of Olive back to immigrant John Greene of Quidnesset, R. I., and on town to her father Caleb Greene, a son of Job. Caleb's wife was named Clarissa. However, I have been unable to find any record of a Clarissa, Louisa or Clarissa L. anywhere in the proper period--especially in the fine book dealing with the Greenes of St. Alban, Vt.
An outside hope at the moment is that Caleb and Clarissa had a 12th and unrecorded daughter named Clarissa--as information is skimpy on some of his later children. Two of the sons of Caleb's brother Job for whom I cannot find children identified also were in their 20s when Clarissa Louisa was born in 1829.
Any lead or information would be greatly appreciated.
