Preseroid Greenman, 26th MI Infantry
I have Civil War letters of my gg-grandfather's, and in them, he talks about "Greenman". I have since discovered that a "Preseroid D. Greenman" was the Chaplain for the unit..the 26th MI Volunteers. Most of these men were from the Grand Traverse Co area, around Traverse City. The unit mustered in at Jackson MI, and some are from around that area also. I also learned that he got a disability discharge Mar 10, 1863, but died shortly after that, before being able to get home. He enlisted at age 33 in 1862.
I'm looking for descendants...please reply if you think he's one of "yours".
