Dear Sanja,
So nice to hear from you, my apologies for taking so long to get back with you. It's always nice to hear from someone interested in genealogy.
It would be very nice to find a link between our families and I would be very interested in any information you might have. I was aware that the name originally had been Grguric, but that it had been "Americanized" along the way.In my research I always try to keep in mind the multitude of spellings that might have been used.
I recently was able to find Ellis Island records of my family coming over to the states, they were miners and ended up living and working in Calumet Michigan. It is my understanding that my great great grandfather (Paul?) Grguric returned to Croatia after his wife Katarine died in 1904.She was buried in Calumet.I also understand that he remarried though I know nothing specific about it.
I believe they were from Lokve and the Ellis Island records seem to confirm it.I also have several family photos from the late 1800's, early 1900's that were taken of the family I believe before they came to the US.I also have some wedding photos, but do not know who they are of.
If you think there may be a link of somekind, I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks for responding, I appreciate hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Terry McCarrick
