Re: James Grehan/Matilda McNicol
Hi Pat, Nice to hear from you and thank's for the offer. I would be grateful of anything you might find on the census returns in the U.S.
I'm not in the States, I live in Manchester England, although I was born in Glasgow. I've been researching my Grehan's for seven years but have had no luck whatsoever with the American search.
You say you are impressed with my knowledge of my Grehan's, well that was down to pure luck when a local historian from Galway just happened to stumble across my postings and recognised something from his own research in his own village in Galway, which turned out to be the village my Grehan's came from. So I have him to thank, because before him, I was getting knowhere fast.
You probably already know this, but I had a look at some samples of the Griffiths Evaluation for Kildare and found the following, (these are not the full reports, just snippets, the full reports can be obtained from myirishancestry.com):
Patrick Graham of Lowtown, Kilmeage
Thomas Graham of Lowtown, Kilmeage
Ellen Bagenall of Allenwood Middle, Kilmeage
Thomas Bagenall of Allenwood North, Kilmeage
Patrick Bagnall of Allenwood North, Kilmeage
Once again, thank's for the census look-up offer, I look forward to hearing from you.
