Frederick Griggs Texas

Would appreciate if anyone has info on Frederick Griggs of Kaufman County Texas wife Mary Ann. Fred was born circa early 1800's in Tennessee. I am trying to find out who his parents and siblings were.
He was listed in 1870 in Johnson Beat with his wife and children as Bittick?
Can anyone shed some light on this family...oldest daughters married into the Perry family and the Charles Larkin family in Texas.
