Re: Four brides named GRIGGS, Ripley Co. IN 1836-1847

Caleb Griggs was the half brother of Seth Griggs, my gggg-grandfather.I have a copy of a letter from Seth to his brother David, that mentioned Caleb and his family written in Dec 1844.We are still looking for proof that John Griggs Jr., settled in Ripley County IN before 1830 with his brothers. There is a strong possibly that Mary Ann Griggs was John's daughter. We believe the other 3 girls were Caleb's daughters.

I will be glad to share what I have on the Griggs family.I am descended from John Miller Griggs, son of Seth Griggs and Susanna Williams.
