Hello all, There sure seems to be a lot of Edmund Grindrod's out there!
The one I'm tracing emigrated to the US after the death of his wife in 1869 in the Rochdale/Oldham area of Lancashire. He was a stonemason, as was his father John, and he had several brothers and sisters, some of whom may have emigrated before he did.Brother James was born in 1835, Abraham 1837, Martha, John, Edmund (1843) , Alice, and Abel. Apparently my Edmund died in a bar brawl in the US.Edmund's mother's name was Martha Heap and his wife's name was Annice (Annis) Bailey, their children were Martha Jane and Mary Annice.
Any of this fit in with what you have?Cheers, Carolyn
